Lausanne 2010 – Final Day

The atmosphere is buzzing during this last day, much as it was on the opening day of the conference. There is one major difference. On that first day, I had a feeling of anticipation, while today I have an overall feeling of satisfaction.

We all worked hard to get to this place, to understand one another, and to strive toward unity and interdependence.  More than anything else, I am reconciled to the fact that maturity and suffering hold the Church together, and glorify God.

I leave Lausanne today satisfied that the Word of God has been the central theme, that the need for Bible translation has been captured, and that it is our engagement with the very Word of God that unites Christians and attracts the world to a God who loves them with an eternal love.

Please pray that each delegate might now return safely to their sphere of influence and impact others with the mystery of the Gospel!

“Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible” (Ephesians 6: 23-24, ESV)
