Prayer Alert: Brutal Attacks in the DRC

We ask for your urgent prayers for the Tembo people of the DRC Trauma Healing Cluster Project. This weekend, Seed Company staff received news of horrific attacks on the Tembo of the Kamananga village.

One local pastor described the assault as a true massacre. The devastating rebel attacks occurring on May 13-14 killed at least 50 civilians, including men, women and even small children.

Here is a translated portion of one pastor’s message to The Seed Company Field Team:

We greet you in Christ.
We pray (and ask you to join us) for the healing of injuries and the psychological recovery and social restoration of many severely traumatized Tembo people.

We hope to organize a concert of prayer with the servants of God (particularly the Tembo). We will seek to muster support to visit survivors [and use the Story-Based Trauma Healing training]. Thank you for your prayers, and may the Almighty bless you.

Please join us in intercession for the Tembo people of the DRC.

  • Please pray for the comfort and peace for the Kamananga village survivors as they grieve such devastating loss.
  • Intercede for a spirit of grace and healing to be poured out upon the Tembo people, asking God to bring healing to wounds from trauma.
  • Pray for God to strengthen the Tembo church and pastoral leadership.
  • Please intercede for The Seed Company Field Team and colleagues on the Tembo trauma healing team as they grieve and seek to serve in this critical time.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
— Psalm 34:18 (NLT)

Gratefully,
The Seed Company Prayer Team
